About Bavel

Bavel is the second collaboration between Ori Menashe and Genevieve Gergis, and where Bestia turned Italian cooking through the lens of California, Bavel does the same to the foods of the Levant, North Africa, and Israel. The hummus — served warm with olive oil pooling in the center — has generated more conversation than any other single dish in either restaurant's history, which is saying something for a menu that includes slow-roasted lamb neck shawarma and a wagyu oxtail tagine that arrives smelling of spice and centuries of memory. Genevieve's desserts extend the Middle Eastern influence through baklava, halva, and custards that deserve their own following.
