About Pine & Crane

Pine & Crane brought Taiwanese home cooking to Silver Lake with a counter-service format that prices everything under what a comparable restaurant would charge, and earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for the trouble. The panfried pork buns — seared on the bottom until they form a shatteringly crisp crust, filled with pork and cabbage — have become the restaurant's calling card, and the dan dan noodles with chili oil and ground pork work at a heat level that builds rather than overwhelms. The DTLA location added an Asian mini-mart, but the Silver Lake original remains the version with the longest neighborhood loyalty.
