West Village's relaxed Italian wine bar and kitchen — excellent handmade pasta and one of NYC's best wine selections
L'Artusi has occupied its West 10th Street address since 2008 and has become one of the most consistently excellent Italian wine bars in New York. The pasta is made in-house: the tajarin — a thin, eggy Piedmontese cut — with brown butter and sage is the house standard and one of the purest pastas in the city. The burrata arrives at room temperature with good olive oil and sea salt and asks nothing more of itself. The wine list favors Italian producers across regions and the staff understand it well. L'Artusi operates as a neighborhood restaurant that happens to be better than almost anywhere else in the neighborhood, which is the best kind of place to eat.
