No menu, no frills, no argument — Astoria's grilled fish house where you pick from the case and sit down
Elias Corner has famously never printed a menu. You walk in, look at the fish in the case by the door, point at what you want, and it comes back grilled with lemon, oregano, and olive oil and nothing else happening to it. The swordfish, the porgy, and the octopus are the usual answers. It is cash only, the room is plain to the point of institutional, and the service assumes you know the drill. In warm months there is a garden out back that is one of the pleasanter places to eat in Queens. This is the most stripped-down expression of Greek seafood cooking in the city, and among the best.
