Dom DeMarco's legendary Midwood pizzeria — each pie hand-cut with scissors after the fresh basil is laid on by the man himself
Dom DeMarco has been making pizza at the same address in Midwood since 1965 and has remained one of the best arguments for the New York slice in the process. Each pizza is made by hand, topped with imported Italian ingredients, and finished with a drizzle of olive oil and fresh basil laid on just before the box closes — or the scissors cut the pie tableside if you're eating in. The wait is long because there is only one Dom DeMarco and he makes every pizza himself. The crust is perfectly charred and chewy. The sauce is sweet and bright. Di Fara is a pilgrimage that should be made at least once, and most people return.
