About Bong

Bong is one of the very few Cambodian restaurants in New York, which alone would make it notable; that it is also very good makes it one of the most important recent openings in Brooklyn. The cooking is built on kroeung — the lemongrass and galangal paste that underpins Khmer food — and the fermented fish paste prahok, neither of which is toned down here. Amok, the coconut curry steamed in banana leaf, is the dish to start with. The Sterling Place room is small and personal. It landed on The Infatuation's list of the best restaurants in the city and deserves the placement.
