Arthur occupies a corner on Franklin Street and does the modern wine-bar-with-a-real-kitchen format about as well as it can be done. The menu is short, seasonal, and vegetable-forward, with a pasta or two and a larger plate for the table. The wine list is the reason a lot of people are here: broad, well-chosen, and priced without the usual Brooklyn markup on obscurity. The room is warm and low-key with a bar that is comfortable to eat at alone. It has become one of Greenpoint's most reliable evenings out without ever making much noise about it.
