El Segundo's neighborhood Italian from Jackson and Melissa Kalb — hand-rolled pasta and an all-day room
Jackson and Melissa Kalb opened Jame Enoteca on Main Street in El Segundo as a genuine neighborhood restaurant rather than a destination, and the fact that it has become both is a consequence of the cooking rather than the marketing. The pastas are rolled by hand daily and priced like a place that expects you to come back next week. It runs all day, which matters in a beach town where lunch and dinner blur, and the wine list is short, Italian-leaning, and mostly available by the glass. The South Bay has plenty of restaurants that are fine; this is one of the few that would hold its own on the Westside and simply chooses not to be there.
