Israeli-Mediterranean cooking in a Fort Greene brownstone with one of Brooklyn's best back gardens
Miss Ada is chef Tomer Blechman's Fort Greene restaurant, named for his grandmother, and it does modern Israeli cooking with a Mediterranean spread — hummus that is smooth and warm and served with real bread, vegetables charred hard, lamb and fish off the grill. The back garden is the reason a lot of people book: a proper leafy space that makes summer dinners feel like a different city. The dining room is small and warm. It has been one of Brooklyn's most consistent restaurants since 2017 and remains a straightforward recommendation for almost any occasion.
